Peppermint, Sage, Thyme, Lemon Balm, Chamomile, Lavender, and many other medicinal and kitchen herbs grow in the gardens and in the fields of the "Pfleger" Estate in St. Oswald, below Siusi. The slopes all around the ruins of the Aichach Castle are steep, and since the death of her husband, Martha Mulser manages the farm alone – but with the strong support of her four grown children. Together with them, she has set up a exemplary farmstead which is widely regarded as one of the best-run alternative agricultural undertakings in South Tyrol.

" I began raising herbs twenty years ago. I had heard a lecture on the subject, and I had found it so interesting that afterwards I started growing a few of the most-familiar kinds of herbs in a small field… My initial interest developed into a lifelong commitment." They offered their products for sale at bio-markets, attended lectures and classes together, or undertook study trips to foreign countries.
